Faculty majors
The Faculty of Physics and Technology is one of the leading academic and scientific divisions of the State Pedagogical University “Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University”. The training of specialists at the faculty is carried out in four professional departments, where 12 doctors of sciences, professors and 18 candidates of sciences, associate professors are involved in the educational process and scientific work. The entry into the faculty of a number of scientific units allows you to fully realize the basic principles of acquiring knowledge through scientific activities, which students have been joining since the first semester of their studies at the university.
At the Faculty of Physics and Technology, students are given the opportunity to obtain a higher education of European level by degrees “Bachelor”, “Master”, in the following specialties and also get a Ph.D. degree in Physics and Astronomy, Applied Physics and Nanomaterials, Electronics.

Physics and Astronomy: Fundamental and applied research in the field of physics, natural sciences and engineering; mathematical modeling of processes in natural, technical and biomedical systems; development of equipment and methods of research of physical processes and phenomena; development of hardware of computer systems and their exploitation; teaching physics and related disciplines in educational institutions of any level of accreditation: from schools, lyceums, gymnasiums to universities; work at enterprises that manufacture elements and electronic devices of automation, radio electronics and communication systems; work in research institutes, research and development bureaus and laboratories; organization and management of scientific research, commercial material science.
Applied Physics and Nanomaterials: carrying out of research and development, production processes, which are related to the development and creation of elements of optoelectronics, optoelectronic transmission and processing systems, laser technologies in micro and optoelectronics; exploitation and maintenance of optoelectronic systems and devices in various branches of economy; teaching physics and related disciplines in educational institutions of any level of accreditation: from schools, lyceums, gymnasiums to universities; work at enterprises that manufacture elements and electronic devices of automation, radio electronics and communication systems; work with complex measuring complexes using a PC; management and marketing of technologies, devices, ideas, know-how and inventions; performance of duties in firms and advertising agencies for the implementation of new models of devices, materials and technologies.
Computer engineering: creation, use, maintenance of computer systems and networks based on microprocessors, personal computers, databases, software development in high-level languages; creation, maintenance and operation of system and problem-oriented software, databases of computer systems and networks; creation, use, maintenance of specialized computer facilities, in particular, designing and manufacturing of built-in computer systems for home appliances, instrumentation, computer communication equipment, image signal processing systems, high-performance computer systems.
Electronics: creation of new and improved existing technologies and devices of electronic technology based on the use of modern circuit design solutions.
